"Is that a gaw?" Madeleine asked last night as I sat on the side of the bathtub soaking my sore foot. I had stupidly walked onto our desperately-in-need-of-repair deck Sunday afternoon without shoes and received a small log in my heel. I thought we had gotten it all, but there was a still a small splinter left which I was able to retrieve last night. In the bathroom, I slathered on Neosporin and held a small white pad, ready to tape it on.
"A gaw?" I asked.
Then I realized what she meant. She thought the word "gauze" was plural for gaw. You know, "gaws."

You have to add that to the "Best of." That was funny as hell!
These are the fun moments you get to bring up again, when she goes through that fun teenager period.
