In an Ideal World

Today, Madeleine and I stopped at Burger King for veggie Whoppers. A window sign warned, "No shirt, no shoes, no service."

"Mom, that's really unfair," Madeleine said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because, what if someone is really poor and they don't have any shoes, but they really want to go to Burger King? Shoes are really expensive these days."

The world is just filled with inequities.
